Board & Train

Board & Train in Northern Virginia

Residential training at our Nokesville, VA campus — built from your dog's evaluation, carried through adaptation, and handed over to you with real control. Not a fixed-length package.

ICONK9 board and train is residential dog training at 15001 Fleetwood Drive, Nokesville, Virginia, serving Northern Virginia and the DC metro. It follows one system: evaluation first (testing fee $250–$2,000 by level), then a training program whose length is set by the test result, then adaptation and handover — no dog is delivered before adaptation. Training starts from $1,000; the final price is confirmed after evaluation. Dogs must be at least 3 months old and fully vaccinated.

How It Works

One System: Evaluation, Training, Adaptation

Most board and train programs in Northern Virginia sell a number of weeks. ICONK9 does not. The evaluation decides whether the system can be built for your dog, the program decides how long it takes, and adaptation decides when your dog is ready to come home. Every case — family dog or working dog — moves through the same three phases described in The System.

01 · Evaluation & Planning

Application, intro call, then structured testing of the dog, the owner and their interaction. You receive a detailed report and decide whether to proceed. Testing level and fee depend on the dog: Level 1 puppies $250, Level 2 young dogs $1,000, Level 3 mature dogs $2,000, Level 4 custom, Level 5 by application.

02 · Training at the Campus

Agreement signed, payment completed, and a custom program built from the evaluation is applied through structured work and repetition. The duration is set by what the test found — not chosen from a menu. In some cases pre-adaptation starts early, depending on the dog and the home environment.

03 · Adaptation & Handover

The system moves from the controlled campus environment into real life: home routines, daily structure, real-world situations. Then the owner takes control in a structured handover. Follow-ups, returns and remote monitoring keep it reliable. A dog is never delivered without adaptation.

Who It Fits

Built for Dogs That Need More Than a Class

Board and train at ICONK9 is the right path when the problem cannot be solved in weekly lessons: puppies and young dogs that need structure before habits set, adult family dogs that need a full reset in obedience and household control, and behavior cases — reactivity, fear, aggression, resource guarding, bite risk — that require controlled, daily work. It is also the delivery model for working dog programs: protection, detection, tracking and dual-purpose development. What it is not: a place to drop a dog off and receive an "obedient" dog back. The owner is part of the system, and the handover is where the result is secured.

Questions

Board & Train — Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the program?

There is no fixed length. The evaluation sets the program, and the program sets the duration. Testing alone runs from 3 days for puppies to 10–15 days for established behavior patterns; the training that follows is planned from that result and confirmed with you before it starts.

How much does it cost?

Training from $1,000, confirmed after evaluation. Testing fee $250–$2,000 by level; Level 4 custom, Level 5 by application. Stay, food, transport, veterinary needs and taxes are separate when required. Consulting $250 per hour.

What are the requirements?

At least 3 months old and fully vaccinated. Every dog is evaluated first; ICONK9 does not accept every case.

Does my dog come home right after training?

No. Adaptation comes first — the system is moved into real life, then handed over to you with owner control. Follow-up continues after the dog is home.

Where is the campus and which areas do you serve?

15001 Fleetwood Drive, Nokesville, Virginia 20181. Families come from Manassas, Gainesville, Haymarket, Bristow, Warrenton, Fairfax County and Prince William County — and further for working dog programs. Directions and contact →

Is it right for aggressive or reactive dogs?

Often, yes — after the evaluation. Aggression, reactivity, severe fear and bite-risk cases go through the same evaluation-based process; the program is decided from the assessment, not the visible complaint.
